Southern Miss baseball ranked number 11

When it comes down to it, college baseball rankings don’t mean all that much. They didn’t mean anything to a Southern Miss program that was unranked in the pre-season.

The Golden Eagles now 11th in the country, which again doesn’t mean much, other than the fact that they’re hotter than any given July 29th in Hattiesburg.

Southern Miss alum Hunter Stanley is looking impressive in his professional debut yesterday, with the Lake County Captains high-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians.

In three-and-a-third innings, Stanley doing Stanley things, just one hit and two walks allowed with no runs and four strikeouts for the Golden Eagle All-American.
