Mississippi Nurses Association Convention

The 107th annual Mississippi Nurses Association Convention wrapped up today at the Coast Coliseum.

The convention began on Tuesday. Each day over 400 nurses and nurse practitioners have been participating in professional development, education sessions, skills workshops, and much more.

This convention offers these nurses a chance to learn about what the latest is in their profession as well as network with each other.

The student nursing association has their convention in conjunction with MNA so the students can see learning does not stop once you get your degree.

For these nurses, it’s all about staying up to date to give the best treatment possible to patients. MNA President Debra Allen said, “The best part is really most of them want to learn and participate in education so that they can stay up on what the latest is in our profession. We also have a house of delegates where we actually do the business of our association and they get to participate in dinners and games as well.”

The Mississippi Nurses Association is the only group that represents registered nurses and advanced practices nurses across all nursing roles. This convention spreads to many of the near 57,000 RNs in Mississippi.
