Ed Orgeron talks Bama preparation

Bye weeks in football are usually pretty clutch, it’s a time to heal up, reflect, and regroup and this is definitely the case for the LSU Tigers as they have two weeks to prepare for Alabama.

After taking care of Mississippi State on Saturday, LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron gets ready to go up against the number one team in the country. He’s treating the bye week with a spring football mentality.

Orgeron also has the next man up mentality in regards to star linebacker Devin White and his first half suspension against the Tide due to a targeting call in the game against the Bulldogs. “Patrick Queen, Micah Baskerville and Damone Clark, those guys have been getting reps at practice. They know our defense. Obviously, we are going to have to do a couple of things different to make up for the loss of Devin White but, I know we are going to be ready. Just like Devin when he got hurt, we can’t blink next man up.”

2011 was the last time the Tigers beat the tide in overtime with a final score of 9-6 in Tuscaloosa. The same year the two teams faced off in the BCS National Championship Game.
