Gulf Coast Fan Fest 2018

The Mississippi Coast Coliseum was packed over the weekend with your favorite superheroes and stars from popular TV shows at the 2018 Gulf Coast Fan Fest in Biloxi.

A variety of cosplayers took over the coliseum with spooky, groovy, and friendly attires. One of the largest conventions on the Coast brought stars from “The Walking Dead,” “Star Wars,” and much more.

Sam J. Jones from the “Flash Gordon” series was in attendance as well as William Katt from the Greatest American Hero.

This event is a huge success due to its family friendly environment, catering to all generations. Cosplayer Damon Breland said, “I have seen lots of parents bringing their kids, talking about how they didn’t have this when they were growing up. It was something they could bring their kids to do. There’s a lot of retro nostalgia here. So, the parents are bringing their kids and the kids get to see things their parents grew up with.”

Breland is a member of the Mississippi Ghostbusters Group, a nonprofit organization that raises funds and awareness for autism.
