Kaufman to Retire from Public Works
The Director of Public Works for the City of Ocean Springs filed for retirement today.
Andre Kaufman released a statement today stating that “these last few years, while I love my job, have not been a pleasant experience for me and my family, and will most certainly enjoy a less stressful environment”.
This comes after the Board of Aldermen allowing Kaufman to return to work, after he was suspended with pay following the State Auditor’s Office investigation into the department.
At this time, Johnny Groue will assume day to day responsibilities of Public Works, while Kaufman devotes his last three months to moving capital projects along until he retires June 30th.
