Southern Miss-App State not rescheduled
In a college football climate where a six win season makes an FBS program bowl eligible, conference play just that much more important for Southern Miss.
For the first time since 2005, the Golden Eagles will play an 11 game regular season slate as opposed to 12 as a result of Saturday’s game against Appalachian State being called off.
Today, school officials announced the game won’t be rescheduled, leavening ninth ranked Auburn as USM’s only remaining non-conference opponent.
The Black and Gold are currently 1-1 and would presumably need a league record of 5-3 to reach the six win mark.
