Homeschool STEAM program at Lynn Meadow Discovery Center

For three years, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center for children has been hosting a home school STEAM program for students.

The program meets once a month and offers home school classes including science, technology, engineering, art, and math topics.

Today, the group of students and parents worked on a pollinator project through arts and crafts and video.

Early Childhood Director Kat Hamiter says the students love getting involved and working together. “It encourages these kids to have some social skills, because they usually have to work with a group of other children. It also gives them some good science skills that they can take and practice with their home school skills. They really enjoy it. They are very involved. They love coming. Most of these are repeaters. They’ve come before.”

The program is $10 for first child in family, $5 for each additional child, and is scheduled every second Wednesday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
