Communicator of the Year award given to Trang Pham-Bui

She’s a long-time familiar face in South Mississippi.

For a year and a half, she has been known for her work as public relations liaison for the Harrison County School District. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed. Recently, Trang Pham-Bui was named ‘communicator of the year’ during the Mississippi School Public Relations Association ceremony.

The ceremony was part of the group’s MALL/Alliance Summer Convention at the Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi.

Pham-Bui tells News 25 it’s an award she wasn’t expecting. “I still can’t believe it because I didn’t expect to win any award, much less Communicator of the Year in the state of Mississippi. There are so many wonderful things happening in the Harrison County School District and I’m very blessed to be in a position where I can tell those stories and share all the good news that’s happening in our schools.”

Along with the award, Pham-Bui won first place for ‘best in house video.’ The award was for a video package she produced to promote the Harrison County School District’s new collegiate academy program.
