Search for pet heroes to pose in calendar

A calendar is in the making that features adorable pets and some hunky first responders.

The Humane Society of South Mississippi is looking for local heroes, fire, police, first responders, and military, to participate in their 2019 pet heroes calendar. Not only are first responders heroes in our community, but they are also heroes to pets in need.

Heroes chosen to be in the calendar will also be center stage at the calendar’s launch party. Katie King with the Humane Society of South Mississippi said, “One of the main calls that fire and police receive are animal calls. We thought it was a great way to work together and also honor them in our calendar as well as raise money for the animals at the Humane Society. It takes a lot to run this organization on a yearly basis. We take in over 8,000 of the most vulnerable animals in South Mississippi.”
