‘Bring it to the floor’ dance competition

Children in Ocean Springs put on their dancing shoes today and showcased their best moves at the ninth annual ‘Bring it to the Floor’ dance competition.

The show was held at the Ocean Springs Civic Center and marked the end of the nine week long summer camp hosted by the City of Ocean Springs Parks and Recreation. Children ages five through 12 were split into four groups and worked alongside their camp instructors all summer long to learn the choreographies they showcased today.

Over 200 people were in attendance to support the children. Camp and special event Coordinator Bre Liddell said, “This event was just a bunch of kids coming together, having something to do over the course of the nine weeks of being out school for the summer, having structured activities, fun for those kids that don’t get to go off and have a full summer vacation. We try to provide that for them.”

Tonight one of the four teams took home the trophy and each of the children were also presented with a medal.
