Mississippi Lt. Governor on sports betting

It’s almost time to place your bets now that sports betting is legal in Mississippi and casinos across the Coast are gearing up for the change.

Mississippi Lt. Governor Tate Reeves told News 25 he believes the addition of sports betting will not only be beneficial for the Coast, but it will be valuable for other areas in Mississippi as well, bringing in revenue and tourists to the entire state.

Lt. Gov. Reeves also says legalizing sports betting could contribute to improving Mississippi infrastructure. “More people are going to be spending more money on the Gulf Coast, more people are going to be visiting the Gulf Coast and other parts of our state. More people visiting generates more revenue for the entire state. We can capitalize on that and we can utilize that revenue to invest in our state.”
