Blue Angels arrive on the Coast

For the next few days you will be hearing the loud thunder that is the Blue Angels. This morning, the world famous pilots arrived in Gulfport.

Speeds at 1,400 miles per hour, flips and turns like you’ve never seen before, that’s what makes up the Blue Angels Air Show. The world famous Blue Angels team from Pensacola arrived in Biloxi and started preparations for the shows Saturday and Sunday.

One hundred and twenty sailors and marines are part of the Blue Angels team. One of the members, Monica Cooper, is from Gulfport so this show holds a special place in her heart. “I can’t describe it. it’s just a heart warmed feeling because I’m so humbled to be on the team and then you know to be here is even better.”

Being a part of the Blue Angels is a huge honor for anyone in the Marines or Navy. “The teamwork, the comradery, the trust, the family, there’s no comparison to that,” said Cooper.

Blue Angels Pilot Andre Webb says he applied twice to join the Blue Angels team and last year he was lucky enough to be chosen. “I think the most awe-inspiring part of that is seeing our sailors and marines execute their mission and see them work tirelessly every single day to make sure that we put on the best show possible.”

Webb says that being a part of the Blue Angels is such an honor, but it’s also something that each and every team member does not take for granted. “If you’ve flown in an airplane yourself, take that and multiple it by a million. It’ll leave you speechless most of the time.”

Here on our beaches we will have an amazing view of the Blue Angels flying over the water. You do not want to miss what these aircrafts will be showing because it will surely be a show of a lifetime.
