18-year-old charged with aggravated domestic assault in Gulfport

On March 29, 2022, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 18-year-old Devin Platts and charged him with one count of Aggravated Domestic Assault.

On March 29, 2022, at approximately 5:02 p.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to the 2200 block of 22nd Street in reference to a shooting. Once on scene, Officers located a male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Through the course of the investigation, Detectives learned that Platts had gotten into an altercation with a family member and discharged a firearm, which subsequently struck the victim. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

After being booked and processed, Platts was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in lieu of his $50,000 bond.
