Miss State left fielder named Freshman All-American

Mississippi State’s run to Omaha was unexpected for a lot of reasons, but perhaps the least talked about one of all is MSU’s youth and inexperience.

In their final game of the season, the Bulldogs started a lineup consisting of four juniors, one sophomore, and four freshmen. Today, one of those freshmen was the recipient of a big time accolade.

Rowdey Jordan is the man of the hour, earning second-team Freshman All-American honors from D1Baseball.com.

On April 14th, the left fielder was batting a dismal .191, but ending the season hitting at a clip of .321, good for third on the team. Jordan was second on the squad with seven home runs to go along with 15 doubles and 37 RBI.

His bat really came to life during an All-Regional team performance in Tallahassee, registering four multi-hit games.
