Man identified in fatal George County accident

The man who died from a fatal crash in George County last week has been identified.

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, 47-year-old Philip Turner of Lucedale crashed into the back of a trailer loaded with watermelons on Highway 98 eastbound near Rocky Creek Road at 4:45 Thursday morning.

Turner was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from his vehicle.  He was transported by life flight to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he was pronounced dead from his injuries sustained in the crash.
