Gala for the Kids
“The lion, the kids, and the wardrobe” was the theme for the 13th annual Gala for the Kids fundraiser at the Beau Rivage.
The Junior Auxiliary of Biloxi and Ocean Springs is a 501 nonprofit organization that strives to fulfill the needs of children in the community. This event was about the dreams of wonder as the gala had food, live entertainment, and silent and live auctions.
The 90 women involved in the southeast chapter of the Junior Auxiliary plans to use the money to invest in service projects to benefit children on the Gulf Coast. Gala Finance Chair Crystal Delano said, “A school counselor may call where a child may be in need of a new pair of shoes, eyeglass exams, back pack buddies. We partner with that. We have a project that fills the needs of kids in court care. We want to fill the financial, health, physical overall well-being. Any needs that are unmet by the children of the community.”
Last year, the fundraiser allowed the junior auxiliary to help over nine thousand children on the Gulf Coast.
