South Side Rydaz annual Cancer Ride

The South Side Rydaz Motorcycle Club hit the streets of the Gulf Coast with the American Cancer Society, joining the fight against cancer.

The club started their ride at the Biloxi Lighthouse and traveled through D’Iberville, Gulfport, and returned back to the lighthouse. A $10 donation per person allowed anyone with a motorcycle to participate. There were riders from as far as Baton Rouge, Louisiana who attended the event.

For three years, South Side Rydaz has raised awareness for all types of cancer because they all know someone who has been affected. South Side Rydaz Treasurer Shalanda Jenkins said, “One of our older club members passed away from cancer. One of our other club member’s daughter passed away from cancer. As a whole, it affects all of us in some way. There’s family, coworkers, friends, or whatever the case may be. This is just our way to give back to the community, get everybody together, to do one event for a common cause.”

After the ride, everyone involved was invited for food, drinks, and a bonfire that evening.
