Coast Episcopal student artwork hung in Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport
Visitors at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport can now see the works of several student-made works of art.
More than 20 original pieces created by students at Coast Episcopal School were hung up on the second floor of the airport just past the TSA.
Based on the theme ‘Artists who inspires Artists,’ the students, ranging from kindergarten to sixth grade, created their art piece that is connected to a historical or contemporary artist such as Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O’Keeffe, and more.
The pieces will be on display at the airport for at least the next 12 months. Coast Episcopal School Art Director Stacey Hardy said, “It gives them so much self-confidence to see their work in the airport and framed and not just like on their refrigerator door I guess, and they love working in all the different mediums so it’s textiles and ceramics and color pencil marker and they love learning about the artists too.”
The installation was made possible by funding from the Scialdone Law Firm of Gulfport.
