Biloxi, Miss – District Attorney W. Crosby Parker announced today that Laterrance Nathan, age 43, of Biloxi, Mississippi pled guilty earlier this week to two different crimes of sexual battery against two young girls.

Judge Christopher Schmidt sentenced Nathan to thirty years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Correction.

The investigation into the cases revealed that Nathan was 41-years-old at the time of the crimes, which occurred in 2019.

Although the molestation occurred over the course of several months, the girls, who were 14 and 15 at the time, did not tell anyone due to their fear of the Defendant.

The crimes came to light in May 2020, when one of the two victims realized that she was pregnant. Subsequent DNA testing confirmed the baby was the Defendant’s child.

“The victims in this case have shown an unbelievable amount of strength through this difficult time. Children don’t always tell immediately when abuse is going on, especially when it occurs at the hands of a friend, family member, or other trusted adult,” said Assistant District Attorney Alison Baker who prosecuted the case. “The sentence handed down by the Court reflects the seriousness of the crime and, because of the nature of the crime, the Defendant will serve 30 years and will not be eligible for early release or parole,” explained DA Parker.
