Vehicle vs. 18 wheeler collision in Ocean Springs

A vehicle and an 18 wheeler collided around 8 a.m. and left traffic backed up heading westbound on Interstate 10 near mile marker 54 in Ocean Springs.

The lanes remained closed as AMR, firefighters, and Mississippi Highway Patrol worked the scene of the accident.

The driver of the vehicle was life-flighted to USA Mobile and the passenger was taken to Ocean Springs Hospital with injuries.

There is no word yet on what caused the accident or whether the driver of the 18 wheeler sustained any injuries.
