Biloxi prepares the city for Spring Break
As Black Spring Break approaches Biloxi is doing everything to prepare the city for the estimated tens of thousands of visitors that will be making their way to the Coast.
The city will distribute over 7,000 copies of the spring break traffic plan to every resident and business in Biloxi over the next week. The plan limits U.S. 90 traffic to one-lane westbound and one-lane eastbound between I-110 in Biloxi and Cowan Road in Gulfport. The two interior lanes will be used by emergency vehicles.
The plan will begin Friday April 13th and will continue through the weekend. Major Christopher De Back with Biloxi PD said, “It’s just like any other event. People are coming down here to have a great time and enjoy what we have and where we live at. If you need to go somewhere I would encourage you to leave soon or sooner rather than later. We are also advertising the triple 8 triple 7. It’s a new system we got where we are able to push out alerts.”
B-Alert, the new notification system, will offer real-time traffic information and other advisories directly to your cell phone.
