New website one stop shop for election info in Bay St. Louis
The citizens of Bay St. Louis now have no excuse not to get to know their city’s mayoral and council candidates thanks to a new non-partisan website serving as a one stop shop for easy municipal voting.
Its’ called ServeBSL.Com and it provides citizens access to a convenient, non-biased and time-saving way to make informed voting decisions. On the website you can view photos and profiles of each candidate.
Creator Ellis Anderson says it gives voters a chance to compare answers, not ads, with an online forum. The site also offers an election timeline, ward maps even information on the mayor’s job description and salary.
Anderson says she hopes the site will serve as inspiration to other communities on the Coast. “We think it’s the first of its kind in the state of Mississippi, at least for a small town and an online forum. We’re really excited about it. We’re hoping other communities copy us. If it works, we’re hoping that this provides a template that other communities can use in the future because we feel like local government is what affects you most on a daily basis.”
The website is created and sponsored by volunteers working with the ShoeFly Magazine. It is non-partisan and you can find it by visiting servebsl.com.
