One dead in Highway 53 crash

A multiple car accident claims the life of a Louisiana teenager this afternoon in Harrison County.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol at 5:45, four vehicles were involved in an accident on Highway 53 near Carlton-Cuevas Road in the Lizana community.
Harrison County Corner Gary Hargrove tells News 25 the victim was 17-year-old Brooke Posey from Mandeville. She was driving a black Honda Civic. A 14-year-old friend was a passenger in the car and was taken to Gulfport Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
The driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was ejected from his vehicle and taken to the University of South Alabama hospital.
Highway 53 between County Farm and Cable Bridge Roads were closed as crews worked to clear the area.
