Housing Resource and Health Fair in Gulfport

Many people are a step closer to self-sufficiency thanks to the second annual Housing Resource and Health Fair.
The Mississippi Regional Housing Authority Number 8 hosted the event to bring several vendors together to benefit citizens. Services include free vision screenings and blood pressure checks as well as informational booths about various healthcare and housing resources.
Organizers of the fair tell News 25 they wanted residents to speak face to face with these vendors. Philana Harrell with the Mississippi Regional Housing Authority No. 8 said, “The community can come in to one place at one time and get all the information that they may need without having to, as you say, Google or make a phone call or get you someone beating around the bush and sending them to this person and that person.”
Officials are planning the next Housing Resource and Health Fair in Hattiesburg.
