Calvin Hutchins named Moss Point Police Chief

The Moss Point Police Department officially has a new police chief.
In a six to one vote, the Moss Point Board of Aldermen voted last night to appoint Pascagoula Police Sergeant Calvin Hutchins.
Last September, former chief Art McClung resigned from his position after dash cam video surfaced of him allegedly driving under the influence.
Back in 2014, the Board of Alderman voted for Hutchins over McClung for the police chief position, but Mayor Billy Broomfield vetoed the board’s decision back then.
