Former Biloxi Mayor Hospitalized

During last night’s Krewe of Neptune Parade in Biloxi, former Mayor Aj Holloway suffered a medical emergency. Holloway is expected to remain hospitalized until Monday for observation after experiencing a weak spell during the parade.
The five-and-a-half-term Biloxi Mayor was standing in the front row of the reviewing stand, waving at passing floats before sitting down and becoming ill. He was carried away from city hall by AMR first responders and Biloxi firefighters.
It’s reported that Holloway was alert and responsive later Saturday night and this morning. City of Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Vincent Creel said, “Emergency responders were right there in minutes, the mayor’s blood pressure had fallen, they said. What they did was take him to the hospital. He was in the hospital overnight. His blood pressure came back right away once they took him to the hospital. He was in the hospital overnight, his blood pressure came back right away once they got him to the hospital, he’s going to be in the hospital one more day because what they wanna do is his blood pressure is where they want it to be but they want his heart a little bit stronger, gotta remember Mayor Holloway has been through a lot, five terms Biloxi Mayor, he turns 78 in April and everybody just wishes him the best.”
Holloway’s last day in office as Mayor of Biloxi was March 10, 2015.
