Former Pascagoula Police Chief Bill Pope Jr. passes away
Pascagoula today is mourning the passing of retired Police Chief William ‘Bill’ Pope Jr. Chief Pope died Monday.
He began his career in 1959 as a motorcycle cop and climb the ranks until he was named chief in 1982. He retired as chief in 1992.
Chief Pope’s visitation will be Thursday from 10 to 11 at Arlington Baptist Church followed by a funeral service.
Officers from the Pascagoula PD will serve as honorary pallbearers and honor guards.
