Mario King announces mayor campaign for Moss Point
Another person enters the 2017 race for Moss Point mayor, hoping to revamp the River City and improve it’s reputation.
Twenty-nine year-old Moss Point native Mario King officially launched his campaign this afternoon at Trend Setters barber shop on Main Street. His campaign is built on five pillars he feels are in critical need of revamping: economics, education, public safety, community engagement, and accountability.
King tells News 25 his open mind and understanding of politics both locally and globally set him apart from other candidates. “One thing I would say that is different from me is that if I am elected, I can hit the ground rolling and I can make an impact immediately just with the knowledge I have gained about our community.”
King graduated from Moss Point High and went on to attend USM and Delta State University. He lived in California with his wife and two kids for a few years before returning back home to his hometown of Moss Point.
