White House Hotel plans for event center

A popular Coast wedding venue is trying to expand with future brides and grooms in mind.

The White House Hotel wants to build an events center next to its Highway 90 property.

The Biloxi Development Review Committee just looked at the plans for the first time yesterday. The four-story building would be built on the opposite corner of Highway 90 and White Avenue and would include 50 new hotel rooms.

Project architects say they’re all luxury suites and the site would offer plenty of spaces for memorable wedding moments.

A portion of the site needs to be rezoned from residential to community business.
