Gulf Coast gaining attention on ‘Thrillist’ and ‘Expedia’

Multiple Gulf Coast cities are gaining recognition online, ranking on travel website lists for go-to spots around the country.
Gulfport claimed a spot on ‘Thrillist’ travel website’s list for most underappreciated towns you should move to in America. The article boasted about the growing downtown scene with bars and outdoor restaurants. It added nearby attractions to Bay St. Louis and Ocean Springs, highlighting their downtown scenes and artistic style.
The City of Discovery also ranked on ‘Expedia’ travel site’s list for most artistic cities in the country. Chris Vignes with the City of Gulfport said, “It’s not just Gulfport, but the Mississippi Gulf Coast, we like to call it One Coast. The thing is people are starting to recognize that they can come here and have a little bit of everything. We’ve got different communities, we kind of call it cultural gumbo. So people are coming here and you can be based in Gulfport, you can be based in Biloxi, you can be based in Bay St. Louis, but you have this whole Coast that you can take advantage of.”
The ‘Thrillist’ article also mentions how there are always fresh faces on the Mississippi Gulf Coast because of the multiple military bases.
