D’Iberville to Hold 9th BBQ Throw Down Saturday

If you’re fan of good BBQ and family entertainment, the City of D’Iberville wants to invite you to their 9th Annual BBQ Throw Down on Saturday.

The event is being held at the D’Iberville Civic Center on Automall Parkway from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can expect live entertainment, arts and crafts booths, face painting, children’s activities, and of course, BBQ! Over 30 teams are competing for over $5,000 in prizes, and organizers feel this will be the best throw down yet.

Mike Mullins, Public Works Director for the City of D’Iberville, says, "Every year, we’ve been getting better, obviously nine years ago we didn’t know what we were doing. We had to beg teams to get in. I think we had eight teams that year. This year, you know we have over 30. Everything looks great. It grows every year."

News 25’s own meteorologist and reporter, Ryan Mahan, will be one of the judges in this year’s brisket competition. It’s sure to be a tasty assignment!
