Sixteen-year-old charged as an adult in St. Martin home invasion

A 16-year old St. Martin teenager is in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center without bond on home invasion and armed robbery charges.
Sheriff Mike Ezell says on Sunday evening, February 6, Marcus Lamar Cole was armed with a gun and went to a St. Martin home. He allegedly pointed the gun at the homeowner’s son and demanded any guns that were in the house. The sheriff says Cole took a rifle and drove off.
Investigators arrested Cole Wednesday morning at St. Martin High School.
Cole is charged as an adult and was in court Thursday morning for an initial hearing. County Court Judge Mark Watts ordered Cole held without bond due to the severity of the charges. Cole will be back in court next month for a preliminary hearing.
