Two Arrested After Vehicle Pursuit

Two people are behind bars this afternoon after leading Gautier officers on a car chase late last night.
An officer tried to stop the car driven by Billy Ray Stewart for a minor traffic violation…Steward refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.
Additional officers joined the chase and the car stopped just off Ladnier Road.
That’s when Stewart along with his passenger Tammy Juanes fled on foot.
Stewart was able to elude officers for a short time, but was taken into custody by a k-9 officer.
The vehicle they were driving in was listed as stolen.
Stewart is charged with felony pursuit, possession of stolen property and several traffic violations.
Juanes is charged with possession of paraphernalia and an NCIC hit through Alabama.
