Family Enrichment Center open five days a week

Today in Gulfport, Goodwill opened the doors to a facility making it easier for those who are unemployed to find jobs.
Goodwill of South Mississippi held a grand reopening of their Family Enrichment Center in Gaston Point. The Family Enrichment Center originally opened back in 2014.
Today’s opening ceremony celebrated the fact that the center will now be open all week long on a regular basis, helping people prepare for and find jobs.
Goodwill of South Mississippi CEO Richmond Vincent tells News 25 how they secured the funding to make it all happen. “We have fifteen retail stores throughout the Coast and people say ‘well, why do you have retail stores?’ Those retail stores are funding all the staff at this location. So, we’re investing over $250,000 in staff and wages and that comes from the revenue from our retail stores. So, without those retail stores, we could not have done this.”
The center will offer adult literacy programs, GED preparation, customer service training and more. It’s open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
