Dropout Prevention Career And Alumni Day

Students at North Gulfport 7th and 8th grade middle school are learning about different career paths during their dropout prevention day.
Over a dozen speakers from law enforcement, real estate, marketing, and more are presenting at the school.
Each employee talks about their profession for about 15 minutes and then kids can ask questions about the career path.
Counselors at the school tell news 25 they want students to know what career options they have but understand that it starts with an education.

“Sometimes the typical and traditional routes doesn’t always apply to certain careers but we definitely want them to understand that any career that they feel there is some type of training and some type of education they have or they need.”

Dropout prevention career and alumni day is an annual program at the middle school which has been going on for nine years.
