Gulf Coast Historical and Cultural Exposition
The City of Biloxi turned 319 years old on February 13th and the celebration of the community’s history will continue this weekend with the Gulf Coast Historical and Cultural Exposition.
The expo started today at the Biloxi Civic Center and will go on tomorrow as well. You can browse displays and presentations from people like Edmond Boudreaux who tells News 25 that there are many reasons why he believes in the promotion of the history of Biloxi and the Gulf Coast. “It’s my heritage. My ancestors were with some of the French colonial troops. The Delehose family was part of that Boudreaux. We’re Cajun and that’s what my name is. The Delehoses were part of the colonial officers that were here along the Gulf Coast and Mobile and Louisiana. What I’m doing is showing you what the colonial outfits look like and all the accouterments the colonial soldier would of carried with him during that time period.”
You can stop by for free anytime from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow.
