Biloxi PD Holds Special Ceremony to Honor Retirees
Retirees with at least 25 years of service on the police force were recognized. Not only was the event for the retirees, but current officers were acknowledged, as well as some citizens that have helped the police department. Chief John Miller says it was a hard task determining who was to receive awards, but the recipients are well deserving.
Miller says, "You’ll see some recognition awards for officers who have done exceptional work or surpassed everyone else. We want to recognize people that have been with us for so many years, you know, they’ve dedicated their life to the police service, whether they be dispatchers or policemen, or mechanics, they’ve all dedicated their life to us and we want to recognize them."
The ceremony is an annual event and the department hopes to continue awarding exceptional officers for many years to come.
