Biloxi football’s R.J. Moss signs with South Alabama
When it comes to National Signing Day surprises are almost expected and that brings up former Mississippi State commit R.J. Moss out of Biloxi High School.
This afternoon, the three-star defensive lineman signed with South Alabama less than a week after decommitting from MSU.
Despite going out of state, Moss actually stays closer to home in Mobile where he’ll set up shop starting in May or June.
One of seven Coast players selected to the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game Moss says he picked the Jaguars over 14 other division I offers thanks in large part to an instant connection with Head Coach Kane Wommack who has in-state ties to Southern Miss as a player and Ole Miss as a coach. “We were talking one-on-one, telling me how he could use me in his scheme and everything and how I just like the coaching staff at South Alabama. They just treat me with love and everything, and they’re some great people. But I just had to talk with my family and I just thought the best decision was to go to South Alabama. It’s a dream come true. It’s really a dream to reality. I would dream about it as a kid, just signing that paper in front of the cameras and everything and I’m just blessed to be here.”
Joining Moss at the Signing Day table, teammates Ethan Dematos with Millsaps College, Deon Hardin with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and Dashawn Porter with Southwest Mississippi Community College.
