Armed Robbery at Dollar General

The gunman who robbed a Dollar General in St. Martin is still at large and authorities are linking the suspect to another armed robbery that happened in December.

Shots were fired during an armed robbery at the Dollar General on Washington Avenue and old fort bayou road Saturday night.

Authorities say one employee was injured during the robbery.
The suspect then fled the scene.
The crime — has residents in the area concerned.

“I hope they catch whoever is going around because of course they’re scaring a lot of people, and people are concerned in the community about all the robberies going on. They’re concerned for their children because it is very family oriented. So hopefully they’ll catch whoever is doing it and everything will go back to normal as soon as possible.”

Police are describing the suspect as a tall, slender man in his early twenties who was dressed in black during the time of the robbery.
