New Discovered Noise Ordinance Bay St. Louis
Tonight the Bay St. Louis City Council will meet and once again a possible notice ordinance for the city.
Talks about a possible noise ordinance for downtown Bay St. Louis lasted about two hours at the council’s last meeting.
They were discussing ways to enact an ordinance to quiet the loud music coming from bars in the depot district late at night.
City Attorney Trent Favre did bring to light the bay already has such an ordinance enacted years ago.
That ordinance prohibits buildings from using any outdoor speakers or sound devices without a permit.
It also prohibits anyone from playing music in a building that is loud enough to be heard through a window or door.
