One of the main storylines leading up to the Sugar Bowl was Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral’s decision to play against Baylor as opposed to opting out to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Rough day at the office for Coach Kiffin and company, falling by the final score of 21-7 as Dave Aranda gets the Gatorade bath on his way to mid-field.
Ole Miss Head Coach Lane Kiffin said, “My mind raced with a lot of thoughts right there, and that’s just from my love for him just like I would if it were my own son in that situation. So maybe I didn’t do a great enough job with the team because I was really hurting for him in that situation because I know how much he’s put into it and how much it means to him, and for that to be taken away like that, it really sucks. I’m not going to sit up here and say and talk about our miraculous season. We did some neat things, some special things, some great memories, but we didn’t finish it. And that’s what we came here to do, not just to get a participation trophy, so not really excited.”
The Rebels end their season with an overall mark of 10-3.
