Additional Suspect Arrested in Stone Co. Sawmill Murder
Meanwhile, another person has been arrested in relation to the case. Evelyn garrison left a Stone County courtroom Wednesday with her head hung low, just days after her husband was found shot to death at his sawmill business. Dale Wheat, a Coast resident, says, "It’s just kind of shocking to see that anything like that happens in our little small towns and everything like that and it’s just a sad situation that we have to deal."
Alabama resident, Emmett Entrekin, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the crime. Both Entrekin and Garrison are charged with conspiracy to commit murder and are being held on a $1 million cash bond. No word yet from authorities on just how, or if, the two knew each other, but many locals knew the victim well. Teresa Jones, a Stone County resident, says, "Timmy was a wonderful person. He gave a lot to a lot of people and it’s just a tragedy for Stone County."
While authorities have made two arrests within four days of Timmy’s murder, people News 25 spoke to Wednesday are still trying to figure out just why someone would want to shoot and kill a man known throughout the community for always being ready to lend a helping hand to others. Jones also says, "I had been to some of the benefits that Timmy gave for people who were sick and people who needed help and he was just a very outgoing person."
This violent crime hits close to home for these small town residents. Jesse Stanford, another resident, says, "No, it doesn’t shock me. It’s just getting worse and worse around here and it’s going to get a lot worse."
Jeff Rexroad, a Stone County resident, closes, "Violence is getting closer to home and I think that there’s going to be more and more violence going on everywhere around us."
