Southern Bound Book Shop moving to D’Iberville

A locally owned book store will be expanding after the first of the year.

For several years now, Southern Bound Book Shop has been on Howard Avenue beside the Jacked Up Coffee Bar hosting book clubs and selling used, new, and vintage books.

After this week, they’ll be moving to a new location inside Centuries Antique Store in D’Iberville.

While their current space is quaint and cozy, the new space is bigger, allowing Southern Bound to house more books.

Owner Shereen Markowitz founded the shop with the idea of providing a community hub for people to bond over their appreciation of literature. “Books can bring people together. So, that’s what we’ve really been for the people in the area, a place to come and gather and discuss books and to feel the peace and therapy sometimes that discussing books can bring to people.”

Their last day in Biloxi is Friday. They’ll be opening in the new location after the first of the year.
