Biloxi City Council Approves New Subdivision in Ward 7
Councilmen David Fayard and George Lawrence were concerned about flooding in the area, which would only become worse with more development, but city officials say they will come up with a plan to address flooding and allow for the project to move forward. The single family subdivision will be built on Old Highway 67, just a few minutes off of I-110.
Fayard says, "I thought we needed to table it and let them come up with a design of their retention pond and their plan to control the flooding and the water and bring it back after our engineers looked at it, so we can make an intelligent decision."
If the flooding issue is controlled, Fayard looks forward to his ward expanding in population. When completed, the homes will start at $250,000 and the neighborhood will be called the Jordan Subdivision.
