Mississippi Heroes celebrate local caregivers at Mississippi Railway Museum
Caring for those who spend their days caring for others, Mississippi Heroes hosted a free Christmas celebration for local caregivers.
A party with free food, live music, guest appearances from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Buddy the Elf helped ring in some Christmas cheer for local caregivers.
The Mississippi Railroad Museum, lit with over two million Christmas lights, creates the perfect party atmosphere this time of year.
This evening, the nonprofit Mississippi Heroes and Waitr sponsored the event to celebrate everyday families and professional caregivers. Mississippi Heroes Founder and Executive Director Katherine Sutton said, “We realized that a lot of family caregivers aren’t getting out. A lot of them aren’t decorating for Christmas, a lot of them aren’t getting to really celebrate. So, we figured we’d create a party and we would invite them and it’s beautiful here. It’s all lit up and what a better place to have a wonderful Christmas party.”
Two caregivers were awarded for their selflessness and dedication to caring for those around them.
