Choir concert returns to Pascagoula Public Library after COVID
One library on the Coast gave a noise disclaimer for Wednesday as carolers filled the aisles with holiday spirit.
Pascagoula Public Library’s annual Holiday Open House is back after a year off from COVID. The Colmer Middle School Choir caroled for visitors and city officials at 10 a.m. and library staffers gathered on the stairs for their own noon-time special. The Great Speckled Birds and Don Smith, a bluegrass act, followed at 3 p.m.
The Library System held the concert to also kick off celebrating the appointment of some key personnel. Newly-named Director Angela Stewart told News 25 that events like this are good for the library’s health. “Well, a lot of people are not aware of all of the resources that we have available to them for free here at the public library. People forget sometimes that we can give them free internet access, and we can give them free magazines, and free best-seller books and movies to check out. So, it’s great to have them in here and get them familiar again with what we do.”
Pascagoula Public Library will also be the site of a sci-fi and fantasy convention in January.
