Crews respond to possible lightning strike in Harrison County

Heavy rain and lightning pushed through parts of Harrison County this morning.
Around 10:30 a.m., a homeowner in Gulfport smelled smoke and thought her shed was hit by lightning. Harrison County Fire and Gulfport Fire responded to the call on Walter Smith Road. The property is located off of North Swan Road in Gulfport.
The firefighters were quickly on scene and went around the property, checking to see if there was any sign of fire due to a lightning strike. After a half hour on scene, the firefighters determined there was not a lightning strike.
