Marine Biology Stewardship Event
How would you prepare for another devastating hurricane? The stewardship program was held at the Gulf Coast Research Lab in Jackson County.
Over 80 students from Pascagoula and Gautier schools presented their semester long project to a group of judges. Topics included flood warning systems, storm identity theft, and others concerning rising sea levels. Coordinator of Program Development Jessica Kastler said, “Each of the students has been given a project topic. They’re working in teams actually and each topic is a specific thing that actually happened that community members had to address after Hurricane Katrina.”
Officials with the Gulf Coast Research Lab hope to make this an annual project with the students.
