Biloxi Baseball’s Patrick Galle signs with Ole Miss
Patrick Galle and Logan Forsythe have played on the same team many times over the years, most recently with the East Coast Sox.
But they also know what it is like to play on rival teams, those being Biloxi and D’Iberville, and now they’re about to know that same feeling on the college level at Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
As fate would have it, their respective signing day ceremonies separated by just an hour and a 10-mile drive.
Galle signing his national letter of intent with Ole Miss, choosing the Rebels over Mississippi State, Southern Miss, and East Mississippi Community College.
He says Ole Miss offered him early sophomore year and was sold after getting the chance to visit Oxford, home to seven regional titles since 2005.
His signature start as a junior was at Battle of the Beach in which he struck out 13, across six scoreless innings in a 1-0 win over Nettleton.
All part of his rapid development that Head Coach Eddie Lofton says is way ahead of schedule. “When he was in junior high, looking at his body type and how he was progressing, we talked about it as a coaching staff and said, I think this is going to be our next guy that’s throwing in the 90’s. Now, we never dreamed it would be his sophomore year.”
Galle said, “Early in high school I got the opportunity to go play baseball there and I just knew I couldn’t pass it up. I went up there. It felt like I was at home and it was just all I’ve ever wanted. It means everything. I want to represent the city. I want to represent the school, everyone. Hotty Toddy.”
The righty senior says he throws a four-pitch mix of fastball, curveball, slider, change up, topping out at 93 on the four-seamer.
