Pass Christian Isles Golf Club tees off Veterans Day Tournament
The Pass Christian Isles Golf Club teed off its annual Veterans Day Tournament and honored a special guest who served in World War II.
The club honors veterans in November every year with a tournament. All proceeds from the event go directly to local veteran groups.
Lou Casabon, who fought in World War II, was presented with a special coin honoring his contribution as part of the Greatest Generation. Casabon was an intelligence officer serving overseas more than 70 years ago.
Door prizes were given out and golfers bought raffle tickets for a chance at winning a state-of-the-art golf bag or a sizeable supply of Crown Royal. Pass Christian Isles President Kenny Adkins said, “This tournament, it goes to a lot of the different VFWs and things of that nature to help sponsor a lot of stuff that they do. And you know, just being able to be a part of that is an honor for us here at Pass Christian Golf Club.”
Closing ceremonies wrapped everything up around 1:30 that afternoon.
